Question about WOW

You must buy the original before you can buy any expansion packs, buy wow weapons and that includes Cataclysm. Cataclysm won be of any use to you until you reach level 80 or if you are desperate to play worgen or goblin classes. Basically, it not necessary to you right now.

The game is patched regularly, so the game you would be playing with just the base game would be the same as everyone else as far as the layout of the world. Certain content won be available to you until you get the expansion packs, but again they aren necessary until you reach the appropriate levels.

There is only 1 World of Warcraft, but there are wow gold several expansions for it. Each expansion is like an upgrade to your WoW account (which you don't have yet). It allows you to have access to more things in the game.

Right now is a very good time to start playing. First off, you can buy original WoW for 5 dollars, the first expansion for 5 dollars, and the second expansion for 10 dollars.

That means for just 20 wow gold dollars, you can be up to date with excess to everything except Cataclysm (which isn't out yet).

I'm pretty sure you still get your first 30 days free when you purchase original WoW, too. After the first 30 days, you have to start paying about 15 dollars for every 30 days.

Also, the game developers just re-did the starter areas making them more streamlined and intuitive for new players. You will have things a bit easier than people like me who have been playing for years did when we first started.

Finally, with a new expansion around the buy wow weapons corner, lots of people are starting to play, or returning from a long absence. The game is booming right now.

As others have said already you need to have all the game versions. But you don need them all at the same time. But right now Blizzard has a special deal going on that expires by the end of today to where you can get the 3 games out right now for a total of 20 dollars. You will need those to be able to play Cataclysm.

So World of Warcraft original goes up to level 60, with Burning Crusade the level cap is raised to 70 and with Wrath of the Lich Kings its 80. Finally with Cataclysm coming out it raises the cap to 85. That is why there are different games for WoW. They are all required to make Cataclysm work in the end but basically each game adds more content and higher levels. So if you really wanted to you could play to level 60 and then buy Burning Crusade to play to level 70 then buy Wrath and play 80. You don have to buy all of them at once and can always do it piece by piece if that is better for you.
