Here in Colorado the American Spirit firm commands a premium for their own brands of buy wow weapons all-natural cigarettes. They even have two that boast organic tobacco. Healthy cigarettes, I guess (they also brag about their bio-degradable filters and make a subtle suggestion with their name packaging that they are in the Native American sacred use of tobacco lineage).}- Mark -{

It's all relevant to money and polotics. The tobacco companies are very big and influential with their funds. They support many government officials and if these funds were lost, many poloticians would be out. So the poloticians support the companies that back them. Just doesn't make sense other than for money.

There was a long discussion one time on NPR (America's Public Radio) that stated that tobacco deaths from lung cancer really do not cost the health system that much because those victims die so quickly. That it is a myth that is put upon the people to believe that tobacco costs the health system so much through lung cancer. Margaret Thatcher

This subject of additives to tobacco is what bothers me about the possible legalization of pot because if tobacco manufacturers get into the act they will make marijuana more addictive. I read some time ago that pot was already more lethal wow gold to our lungs per cigarette than tobacco and if that is true then the last people we need producing pot ciggies is the like of Reynolds Tobacco. When my husband was in the military he had to attend a lecture by some medical officers about the hazards of tobacco and they showed a film of an autopsy in which the lungs were displayed. The corpse was a smoker and the lungs were black. Even if you quit smoking you are still at high risk for lung cancer. I was a smoker and there was never any kind of health warning back then. I smoked for twenty odd years and quit cold turkey when my gynecologist said I had smokers lungs. - George Orwell

Congratulations, Cass, on a difficult achievement. I didn't think of this one before, so for Cass, and Kat, and everyone else who is quitting:Here is what happens when you quit, improvements starting 20 minutes after your last smoke and continuing through (at least) 15 years of changes.

I smoke. I am 64 and all my life I have smoked very casually. Didn't buy cigarettes. Bummed them when I was around my friends and we were having a drink. Smoked about 2 cigarettes every two weeks. Then in 2004 I lost my job and took social security and began buying cigarettes and now I am addicted. I can go for several days without smoking but I always eventually go buy a pack. They are too expensive for my pocketbook but I continue. I really don't entertain the idea of quitting but I know I will one day. I wish my doctor would tell me I had smokers lungs. That would scare me. I love cigarettes in the morning. Other times of the day I can do without them. I have a quitting plan, just don't implement it. Maybe next year. They were the days.
